MME members working on metabolic engineering of fungi attended the 3rd conference of Synthetic Microbiology and Intelligent Bioproduction on 12-14 October in Qingdao. In this conference, our colleagues introduced their progresses in the Bioproduction of statins, the cholesterol-lowering agents, by engineered fungi. The poster “Single step production of the simvastatin precursor Monacolin J” from Dr. Xuenian Huang was awarded the “Best Poster” prize.
